Waste discount days
GREEN waste can be disposed of for a discount at Mareeba Shire transfer stations from next week.
Mareeba Shire Mayor Angela Toppin said the initiative provided an excellent opportunity for residents to prepare their properties ahead of the summer season.
“The discount green waste days are a great opportunity for residents to maintain their properties in preparation for bush fire, flooding and cyclones,” she said.
The upcoming Discount Green Waste Days, for domestic waste only, are scheduled as follows:
Mareeba, Kuranda, Dimbulah and Julatten Transfer Station – 6-7 December
Almaden, Irvinebank and Mt Molloy Transfer Station – 6, 9 December
Mt Carbine Transfer Station – 4, 7 December
Mutchilba Transfer Station – 3, 6 December
Chillagoe Transfer Station – 4, 6 December
Multiple loads will be accepted on these days. For transfer station operating times and locations, visit council’s website.
