The natural environment focus of display
AN art exhibition exploring the subtle exchanges and divine presence that one can experience in the natural environment is now open at Tableland Regional Gallery.

“Silent Conversations: Walking Among the Trees” by Rose Watts will be open until 14 June.
As a series of paintings, mixed media drawings, video, and an installation, Rose explores the concept of interspecies communication through journaling and the western tradition of landscape painting.
“The work pays visual homage to the ancient wisdom of trees, highlighting their vital role in our observation, understanding, and preservation of the natural world,” she said.
“These artworks were created during regular walks through Atherton, on the traditional lands of the Yidinji people and other Traditional Owners of the Atherton Tablelands region.”
To accompany the exhibition, there is an Artists Talk on 17 May at 10.30am at Tableland Regional Gallery. Tea and coffee provided.
“From Concept to Creation: The Power of Mentorship in an Artist’s Journey” will be an engaging conversation between Rose and her mentor, artist and educator, Dr Kellie O’Dempsey as they explore the profound impact mentorship can have on an artist’s creative process.
From developing ideas to executing a full exhibition, the talk will dive into how guidance and feedback can build confidence, clarify vision, and transform creative energy into a meaningful showcase.
The discussion will illuminate how these artists have worked together in a mentorship that has resulted in Rose’s new gallery exhibition.
