Rotunda soothes the soul
SOUNDS of soul music will echo through Yungaburra at the “Sunday in the Park” concert at the town’s rotunda.
The free concert, presented by the Yungaburra Community Rotunda, is hosting the remarkable Soul Song Choir.
Soul Song is the only pop choir in Cairns and is renowned across the region for their dynamic, fervent, and uplifting performances. They foster an inclusive environment, uniting both singers and non-singers from diverse backgrounds to perform pop, soul, and gospel songs from various eras.
Their song selection is curated to inspire, energise, and thrill their audiences, who often find themselves dancing and singing along.
Their ethos revolves around the joy they experience and the memories they create while striving to produce the best music possible.
The choir is no stranger to performing in Yungaburra, but this will be the first time performing in the rotunda.
Soul Song likes to involve the audience, inviting them to sing along with them and providing the crowd with lyrics to help them participate.
Fresh off the heels of five sold-out shows, including a debut at the Adelaide Fringe Festival, their themed medleys and mashups are filled with familiar tunes.
The concert starts this Sunday and will he held from 3pm - 5pm.
This is a family-friendly free event, and if
attendees desire, they can donate directly to the band. Remember to bring along a chair, blanket, or rug to reserve a piece of front-row lawn.
Refreshments are available on-site from Petals & Pinecones.
Parking is available via Short Street. In case of rain, the alternative venue will be the Yungaburra Community Hall.
