New wheels for student
A LUCKY student at Biboohra State School has won a bicycle after she raised an impressive $800 during the school’s recent colour fun run.

The colour run raised a total of $3588.74, with the funds going towards the school’s goal of replacing its current playground.
Member for Cook David Kempton donated $500 to the event, which was used to purchase a brand new bike for the highest fundraiser, Jessie-Lee.
“The school and P&C Association sincerely thank Mr Kempton for his generosity and support of our small school community,” principal David King said.
“We would also like to extend a huge thank you to all our students and parents who participated in fundraising for the colour fun run.
“Their enthusiasm, hard work and commitment helped make the event a success, and we are incredibly proud of everyone who got involved.”
The school’s P&C association has been working hard raising funds and applying for grants to make the project a reality.
“As a small school with just 80 students, community support, donations and fundraising are vital in helping us provide the best possible environment for our children,” association president Fiona Splitt said.
“All money raised through our fundraising activities, including the colour run, along with donations received, is going towards our goal of replacing the school’s existing playground, which has certainly seen better days.
“Thank you to everyone who continues to support our school and help us build a brighter future for our children.”
