Man shot at Silver Valley
A 44-YEAR-OLD man sustained gunshot wounds to his abdomen and calf following a shooting incident in Silver Valley last night.

Police said the man had gone to a Shady Creek Road address at about 9.30pm and had argued with a 68-year-old man who was known to him.
During the altercation he sustained gunshot wounds to his abdomen and calf. He drove home before calling police and was taken to Mareeba Hospital, before being airlifted to Cairns Hospital. He is in a serious but stable condition.
Police said after “protracted negotiations”, the 68-year-old man was taken into custody at around 11.45am today. Investigations are continuing.
