Crash simulation exercise at park
POLICE, ambulance, the SES and the Rescue Chopper will all be in action at Atherton’s Loder Park for a simulation car crash this Friday.
Queensland Fire and Rescue will be conducting the multi-agency exercise which will take the form of a vehicle crash with multiple injuries for Year 11 students.
The aim of the exercise is to provide road safety awareness through real life demonstrations involving actors playing casualties and real working tools.
It will also provide an opportunity for emergency personnel to refine their skills to work in high stress situations alongside and with other agencies.
The demonstration will simulate and demonstrate all actions that occur in a real crash from the moment of impact to the casualties being cut out of the vehicles and then being transported to hospital by the rescue helicopter.
The exercise will take place at Loder Park (off Turner Ave, also the hockey/cricket fields) in Atherton between 10am and 12 noon on Friday.
